Dramatic Restaging of the Iway Bridge Float; Providence, Rhode Island, August 27, 2006

On a bright day in August, this steal bow tore a robin's egg slash across the sky, sun bouncing off its crisp edges, burning lines of bright white. To get it here, the city floated it across the river on barges as one pre-built, hulking mass. You've filled notebooks with drawings of a half-moon shape turned on its side, practicing its notation, its bouyant gesture.

Cast, pigmented plaster, steel, ratchet straps, hand-drawn animation projected with audio, remixed text sourced from the Providence Department of Transportation. 2017.
